KRUZENSHTERN sails round the world

If the only still sailing Flying P-Liner, the legendary four-mast-ship KRUZENSHTERN past PADUA, tries once again the big project to round the world in summer 2005, for all fans of the traditional sailing ships it is a big pleasure.

It started on June 15th 2005 in its home harbour Kaliningrad. The ship didn’t sail through the Panama-Channel but round Cape Horn. The spectacular journey leads above Canary Island to Rio de Janeiro, over Cape Horn to Valparaiso, Galapagos-Islands, Honolulu and Wladiwostock to Hong Kong, and over Australia. Madagascar, Kapstadt and Las Palmas back to Russia, where the ship will be expect in Kaliningrad August 2006.

1926 built at the Tecklenborgwerft in Bremerhaven for the Hamburger shipping company Laeisz, the KRUZENSHTERN run under soviet flag from 1945 und under Russian flag since 1992. Since then the P-Liner have the name of the Russian sea officer, explorer and world rounder Adam Johann Krusenstern.
